Pulsed vs. Continuous Laser Cleaning
Beyond the higher cost of the pulsed laser, the finish of the product will be greatly improved. In fact, pulsing the laser induces less heat in the cleaned material. The pulsed laser is interrupted at a very high frequency, which allows residue to be dislodged and the material to be impacted more efficiently.
Use of the pulsed laser: Finishing products, bodywork, graffiti, small parts.
On the other hand, the continuous laser will cover more surface area while leaving a rougher surface. Depending on the situation, a less smooth finish will provide greater adhesion for baked paints.
Use of the continuous laser: Large surface rust removal, descaling (preparation for painting and preparation for welding).
